Long-time Pogues guitarist, Phil Chevron, passes away

Despite having been given a clean bill of health in April 2012 after a prolonged battle with head and neck cancer spanning back to 2007, Phil Chevron, long-time guitarist of The Pogues, has passed away.  In August 2012 a new tumor appeared and was declared inoperable and would eventually prove fatal.

Since joining The Pogues after their first album, Red Roses for Me, Chevron played on such iconic albums as Rum, Sodomy and the Lash and If I should Fall from Grace as God.
